Of course, if we’re to talk about San Francisco, then we cannot forget the hub, which is the city, the metropolitan area itself. There are obviously plenty of places to see, be it historical or recent, and the sights are just about never-ending. Again, a lot of it’s layout is intentional; however, there are places that are simply structured around nature, etcetera. The city’s structure and layout, because of its location and years of erosion from earthquakes and being located near a fault, are also worthy of your attention. Regardless, if you’re looking for a place with a lot to see, including its towers, then SF is it.

Just like with the rest of the geographic (cities) locations surrounding San Francisco, i.e., San Jose and Oakland, you have plenty of suburban towns to consider visiting. And, actually, one of the best ones that you can check out is called Half Moon Bay. In fact, it’s technically considered a city, and it’s population consists of only around 11,000 residents. (It’s actually about 25 miles south of San Francisco; it’s situated within San Mateo County.) 7. Bodega Bay, California

Out of all of the locations to visit in and around the San Francisco area, Bodega Bay is certainly one of the most famous. In fact, several films were shot on location there! Additionally, the consensus among many is that bodega bay is a census-designated place (with a small village). (It’s a great suburban area to live in [and it also has a cove].) The entirety of the coastline along California is mostly the same (and fantastic), but each distinct location has something new & interesting to offer. However, if this so-called sightseeing happens to get the best of you, then it probably means that you’re at the Devil’s Slide. There are plenty of places to view the redwood trees, but the forests surrounding San Francisco and Half Moon Bay are a sight to behold. I’ve mentioned this place before, and I will mention it again! The Marin headlands, which is located in Marin County (north of the Golden Gate Bridge), is a great place for hiking and getting views of the greater San Francisco metropolitan area. If you’re not aware of Alcatraz, then you must have been living under the damn place this entire time! In addition to this, you can also find yourself investigating the dark history surrounding suicides from the Golden Gate Bridge. Despite this, you still have the walk and the visitors center to help you out.
