Just be sure to put my money to good use.

We all likely understand that we’re given very little choice when it comes to the who’s, what’s, and when’s of our corporate overlords. Of course, many of us may dislike it; however, we’re in the remaining confines of true complicity. (We’re all responsible for their complete and utter control!) Unfortunately, their duplicity doesn’t end there, as the masterminds of our own self-destruction continue to keep us tethered to the shackles of complacency. For what it’s worth, it’s not necessarily our fault, but we’re just as responsible as someone creating the issue to begin with. Thankfully, we can at least attempt to undermine the futile desires of the “downtrodden” and their frivolous desires to become “wealthy” and/or prestigious. (People will endear the rich and famous so that they can rationalize their lewd impulses as well!) Although, in the end, we’re here to fight or be controlled through means of ubiquitous suppression & greed. Just know that it’s not all too bad, as these are the 10 remarkable ways to fight the corporations.

We have weaknesses, but corporations appear as though they have no structural weaknesses. However, they struggle with integrity, be it the nature of the beast or not. And this is certainly integral to our understanding of what we can do to go about these issues. Thankfully, playing by their so-called rules might have some success as well. (Our weaknesses are much the same; however, they are also VERY much different from theirs.) It’s just that we’ve got to be willing to burn them to the group or make them change their ways. In fact, we’re already doing this, but our motivations should always be properly guided so that we do not end up exacerbating things. And a reasonable support system should be in place to make it so that we can do something without also making the entire process appear completely futile! And although it seems like a ‘massive undertaking,’ it’s still something worth fighting for! You’ve just got to find the struggle and use it as best as you can to your own advantage in the fight.

The 10 Remarkable Ways to Fight the Corporations

1. Protest

One of the easiest ways to “fight” the corporations is to protest your “rights” and appeal to the misgivings of our so-called laws. You see, we’ve got the right to make our voices heard, but it doesn’t have to come in the form of cancel culture. (People fall back to their lousy hatred of those of us who aren’t actually responsible.) After all, certain things are very much a given, and the real people who are worth your petty gripes are typically in charge and right in front of you. Furthermore, why not show that you do not support them by simply not using their products or services. (Who else can really do this, right?) In the end, you will give your word through your dedication to a cause, be it positive or negative. “Yeah, but how will this make a difference?” you kindly ask. Well, it obviously makes a difference in your personal life; however, you shouldn’t always expect immediate external change. The difference is that you can “hold” on to your principles of action and spread the word to help make an eventual change. It’s just never easy!

2. Actually Fight

Now, we should never resort to hard violence; however, it’s always an option for a lot of people looking to make a difference. (There are reasons where it’s rational to use violence as a last resort, but it’s still something worth avoiding.) Ethically speaking, it may not always be the price worth paying for, and it’s obviously full of all sorts of very negative consequences. Although, for many people, things aren’t so simple, as they have to make some kind of reasonable living. (Many people were never given an option or find reason to be afraid of the ill-will of others through means of extreme violence.) Of course, this may seem obvious to some, but this mostly serves as an acknowledgement of its viability. And, although it seems rather harsh, there’s truth to spreading a message aggressively when you’re given no other option. Thankfully, we’ve got plenty of other ways to fight, including protests, ideological warfare, and institutional mandates. It’s just that we’re obviously here, and it’s not making all that much of a difference.

3. Become Influential

The more that a person has “influence,” the more that they’re likely ‘responsible’ for any number of given problems. (They’re also more likely to be capable of fixing a problem, but it probably means that they’re less likely to really change things [at least in a good way].) In fact, far too many people get away with this because they can hide behind a corporation and their “social practices” that serve(s) no one but themselves. A change can always start with you, and it’s a given that certain things will NOT pass (given the fact that we’re wanting to change it to begin with). This is obviously somewhat arbitrary, but meaningful change are always differences that require work and dedication. In fact, to scrutinize the status quo, you’ve got to takes some risks, and this risk can occasionally mean that you’ve got to ‘FAIL’ to succeed. And the worst part about it is that you’ve got to acquiesce and join the crew or become some kind of renegade martyr for the cause. Thankfully, you can become one of the first people on the “inside.”

4. Self-Sabotage

For many people, it’s important to be complacent so that they do not create an real unnecessary upheaval that could cause them their lives. After all, they likely thrive off of these companies, and fighting the corporations seems like a futile effort. In turn, you can always be a whistleblower and change things from the inside out; it’s part of the job. It’s obviously a form of espionage, at least in a sense, and there’s nothing wrong with that. So, what is the end point then, right? For what it’s worth, the endeavor to persevere through means of sabotage are always welcome; however, they always come at an extremely high price. Especially if a corporation has it’s own form of security protocol, you can see yourself struggling with the law if you decide to create issues. (This can come in the form of lawsuits or fine penalties.) In some instances, there are even more severe punishments for divulging information from these corporations, i.e., illegal arms trades and personal privacy leaks. Though, it is a risk worth assessing.

5. Create Your Own

Just because the “average person” with fame and fortune doesn’t change things does not mean that you can not or will not. Truthfully, it’s really a facet of being a part of the collective hivemind, but this doesn’t mean that you’re looking to destroy everything either. (Not everything is “bad” per se, but a lot of it is built into the cruddy system that we’ve decided to pleasantly adhere to.) This is where a lot is misunderstood, as it’s really not about ending all civilization as we know it. At times, you have to look within, and this ultimately means that you should fight fire with more water instead of more fire. What does this mean though? Well, it means that you can find creative ways to contradict the culture. It obviously takes time and some money, but you can even create your own alternative website or business that will hand some competition to the market. Again, this information should be taken lightly, and unmitigated aggression is typically uncalled for. However, with some low expectations, you’ll begin anew.

6. Learn

We obviously know that fighting corporations involves “working” for them, ignoring them, and protesting their so-called political values; however, what else works! Of course, this is a mostly rhetorical question, but it’s always a question that is worth seriously asking yourself and other people around you. (Remember, you biggest ‘adversaries’ are companies like Comcast, Verizon, and AT&T.) Now, it’s obviously important to learn what you can do and how you can accomplish it, but it’s also important to become a little smarter, especially when it comes to social plights, political folly, and finance issues. And the end result is pretty much you knowing your way around — this is very important — and not being fooled by the abrasive propaganda, even though it may appear somewhat truthful. For now, this is likely to not change anything, so it’s also likely to make you discouraged. Even if your difference is small, it still amounts to something. Although, it doesn’t have to please everybody, right!? Just learn some decent info!

7. Write & Support

A lot of this seems like hard work, but a lot of it can come quite naturally. It’s obviously not doing me any favors, and it’s not like my SEO score will not pay for it. (Indexing your own pages on the internet is hard when you’re sticking it to the man!) Of course, it’s not just about how motivated you are, but it’s also about the means that you have and communicating them in meaningful ways. Furthermore, this is a form of protest, but it’s also a kind of information and form of supportive communication. A lot of these displeasing corporations exist online, and the average person is likely not willing to do anything about it. Now, depending on your complaint, you can find reason to share your opinions with the CEOs themselves, or you can find reason to share your information with the public more gracefully. Will it always make a difference? No, it will likely not! But your posterity will always be welcomed by the general public to some degree. It’s just that you’re going to have to sacrifice some of your “popularity” in the end!

8. Make Connections

The corporations may give you “jobs,” but they also give you A LOT of things that you do not want. And if it were up to them, they wouldn’t hire you or would likely use you as slave labor. Thankfully, we’ve got checks and balances in place to prevent this kind of misconduct; however, not every last so-called corporation works this way. Of course, every corporation works under the guidelines of business, and they always functioned with power and finance at their cores. Not only do they steal your money, but the banks are highly suspect as well. Thankfully, we’ve all got an ever-growing network of people who will always find a way to make things harder. Unfortunately, it’s not only the corporations making everything more difficult — there’s more involved! Advocating for social change is a good start, but you’ll need a way to spread the message (e.g., unions, group networks, and meetings). In the end, it’s not so easy to get people rallied up for social or economic change, as it requires a lot of creative work, group effort, and risk.

9. Identify Your Motivations

Depending on the problem that you have with any number of these selfish “corporations,” you’ll find that your motivations might change. Of course, your incentivization is your ‘driving force,’ and they also dictate your strategy and focal point. (Your motivations can involve how they’ve personally affected you or how they’ve ruined others around you.) It’s not to say that a lot of things will change, but it’s also relevant like anything else in your life. Additionally, corporations are large, and they’re often too large to fail or be dented with the slightest fracture. Be it Facebook, Google, or Walmart, you may find that monopolies have been around, and they’re created their own tiny set of never-ending loopholes that they can drill through. Furthermore, depending on where this corporation conducts its business, you may find that their involved in illegal practices that are destroying others, including smaller businesses … . (Corporations often intend to drive others out of business as well.) In fact, incentives are often the same!?!

10. Play the Same Game

Many people wonder what the point is when someone mentions fighting the so-called man. Well, it can and will come down to a personal gripe or a societal disgrace, but it doesn’t always have to be for innocuous reasons. (We all can have reasons for loathing corporations, but we also believe that we cannot change things.) You see, they can get away with just about everything, but they’re also held to a certain standard. In fact, we can play the same “games” as these corporations, but we’ve got to be willing to share their motivations as well. Unfortunately, a lot people struggle with having good reasons for fighting or disliking these so-called global conglomerates. If they want to lie, steal, and cheat, then you should be able to as well! It may not always seem like the right answer or lead to a long-term outcome, but it’s certainly a way to settle a cause. Again, not every corporation in the epitome of evil; however, these archetypes are not entirely ill-conceived. Just be aware of the fact that we are playing with different rules!

Ending

To whom it may concern, we’re stuck in a rut, but we’ve still got some amount of actual control over it all. And even though these are “strong suggestions,” they should always be taken with a grain of salt. For now, this also serves this as a motivational speech for those of us who feel as though we want to do something but feel as though we can not. Of course, we’ve all heard and thought of it before, but why not write about it, too. In the end, we can likely make a difference, even if we’re willfully playing with a different set of playing cards. (We should simply step outside the bounds, brave the riskless fears, and overcome the corporate lambasting/greed.) Yes, not everyone hates the corporations, and we often give them a pass for no good reason. It also doesn’t matter if it’s the banks or not, but the rules are often placed in their favor because of the seedy nature of our unshaded capitalist empire. Thankfully, it all works out, even though we think that we cannot do anything about it. We just need to take the dang ride!
